A Finished Object Sighting

Filed under: News — by SpinningYarnsOnline @ 1:43 pm

I love it when I get to see a finished object  of something knit up in our yarn.  I’ve knit stuff with Spinning Yarns yarn but it is so much more fun to see someone else’s creation.   That said, I give you:

Say hello to Deb and her absolutely fabulous fingerless gloves knit up in the Dark Foliage colorway in sport weight.  Before I go any further I must thank Pam for her expert picture taking and emailing skills.  The photo shoot took place in our local Dunkin Donuts, where all important knit modeling is done.

Back to Deb and her gloves…  Notice first Deb’s excellent manicure.  I am loving the french manicure which I would like to say she had done special to properly model her beautiful gloves.  Not so.  She actually had them done for her national television debut on QVC a while back.  Deb’s a star, but that’s a story for another day.

Now to the gloves.  Deb knit herself up this great pair of fingerless gloves in Dark Foliage.  They came out great and am very proud of her and her accomplishment. We did have a small but spirited debate when I pointed out that the gloves are not “fingerless” they are instead “fingertip-less”.  I think they are a perfect compliment to her lovely hair color and her impeccable manicure.  Thanks Deb for sharing!

So, what have you knit with SpinningYarns hand dyed yarn??  Send us an email to info@SpinningYarnsOnline.com   and if you say it’s ok, I would love to post it here.

  1. I’m blushing!!!

Here I am, settling in for my once-weekly knit-blog reading (anyone who’s anyone knows that regular reading of Spinning Yarns Online is de rigeur), and what do I find? Me!

Oh yes, and the gloves. What can I say? SOFT SOFT SOFT!! And WARM! I love them, and I love the yarn!

It would probably also be a good thing at this point to credit Marnie MacLean, who wrote the bodacious pattern. These are her “Hooray For Me” gloves, and anyone who wants a treat for their hands this winter should knit themselves a pair from your sport-weight yarn. The pattern adapts for finger-weight as well. Then, when they’ve finished the gloves in a couple of days, they can knit more for everyone they know.
